Father/Son Time

A few months ago my son told us he wanted a fort back in the woods that him and his friends could play out of so Kenny decided that now was the time and we could use all the leftover material from the new house for it. Here are some of the pics from Sundays adventure where they are trying to dig the post for it. When we get it done I will post pics of it.

Jon worked so hard trying to dig that first hole

What a sweet face!

They even got kelsie back there to help oversee.

My New Car

A few weeks ago we decided that we would take the goverment up on the clunker deal they had going and see about getting me a new car. Mine was on the verge of death anyways so why not. It only had 180,00 miles on it and the transmission was slipping on it and it needed new brakes and new tires. Oh did I forget to mention that my oldest child now has her permit and would have been driving that old clunker? Not in this lifetime!!! We found this Ford Edge at Jim O'neal's and we LOVED it. Love that first sight I guess you could say.

More Pictures Of the Yeager House

For those of you who haven't ever been out to the Yeager farm, this is one of the first things you will see as you pull in our driveway. A very, very old tobacco barn that has been standing for years and years. We always were scared that every strong storm that came our way would take the old barn down but thank God it never did. We had several builders come out and tell us we needed to use the wood on that barn for our house and of course Kenny and I were thinking these men were crazy and out of their minds. After doing some research on reclaimed wood we were thinking that maybe these men weren't so crazy after all. We took a few pieces off the barn and took them to a company over in Sellersburg named Pennington Hardwood and man were we in for a surprise. The wood on the barn was oak and he said it would look great on our floors if we wanted to do it and he ran a sample for us and WOW...I was speechless for the first time in a long time. It was beautiful and pretty much a done deal. I will get a picture of it and post it real soon so you all can see just what I'm talking about and not think we have lost our minds.

This is going to be my husbands safe room and boy is he excited about that!

Soon to be my steps going to the downstairs

This is my soon to be garage. I can't wait.

This is a picture of our walkout basement and all the beautiful windows and french doors

Some of our crew working on the house

My front porch and man is it going to be a big one

This is Steve Repay. He is our builder and he has done a wonderful job!

This was early in the morning and the very first one to go on the house

It's looking much better

New Pictures of the Yeager House

This will soon be my new Kitchen. I can't wait!!! :)

My new garage
A shot of the front of the house.

The first wall goes up

Every morning Kenny goes out and does a full house inspection just to make sure the builders don't try and pull a fast one on him. No one Pulls one over inspector Kenny.

This is Kenny's soon to be play room. AKA safe room. He has BIG plans for this room.

A view of the basement and when I say view I mean it. Look at those windows and french door. I can't wait to have my morning coffee standing at those and looking out over the Yeager farm.

Kenny's parents and Grandpa came up a few Sundays ago to see the progress on the house and I got a few pictures in while I could. Great to see you all Nancy, Norman & Ira.
